My HG Playlist
Today’s been the type of day where you just sit back and relax, maybe read a book or two and listen to your iPod for hours on end without the worries of life bearing down on you. Naturally I took the opportunity to do just that and spend my day enjoying the simple things.
After a while of listening to a few songs on my iPod I really started to think about the Hunger Games, ‘what modern-day music/songs would work for the Hunger Games?’, ‘what would capture the emotions of Katniss, Peeta, Gale, etc. So I started searching my iPod to see what “modern-day music/songs” would fit for the series. It’s just a short, short list but Check them out and see if you agree:
1. Secondhand Serenade - Awake
(Picture the moment when Katniss and Peeta are in the cave during the Games)
(This song totally resembles the moment in the third book Mockingjay when Peeta is hijacked and trying to fight his way back to reality instead of being consumed with the poison.)
3. Blue October _ Congratulations
(Gale was such an important part in Katniss’s life and in this song I believe this is how he feels after the whole series is over. Well, mostly in the end of the first book of the Hunger Games.)
4. Stephen Speaks - Out of my League
(I imagine that this is how Finnick feels when he is around Annie and when he finally reunites with her in the third book Mockingjay.)
5. Mumford & Sons - After the Storm
(Standing in the rubble of her own District. I believe this song captures that moment of Katniss’s return to District 12.)
(Ok, so obviously this song is written by a fan of the Hunger Games but this song is perfect for when Katniss takes the place of Prim at the Reaping. Such an amazing song. It kind of has that modern-day music feel to it as well.)
There are plenty of other playlists that others have made of the Hunger Games. Check them out as well and see what you think.
